'Beautiful' teen girl, 18, died on mum's sofa after taking cocktail of booze and drugs

An inquest into her death held in Caernarfon heard how the teen had been staying with her mum, Jane Mitchell, and a friend during the lockdown, North Wales Live reports.Tributes flooded in for the tragic teenager when news of her death broke in the community back in 2020 with her aunt describing her as her 'beautiful niece.'In a statement read out during the inquest hearing on February 23, 2022, Mrs Mitchell said that in the weeks and months prior to her death Jade had been under the care of the mental health team having tried to take her own life on numerous occasions.She added that her daughter had been officially diagnosed with OCD, PTSD, social anxiety and ADHD and was "being bullied online and in person" in the lead up to her death.Mrs Mitchell said: "I know she had a problem with substance misuse and alcohol - she would drink 12 cans a day."In her statement, Mrs Mitchell also said her daughter had self-harmed in May 2020."She was taken to Hergest (the mental health unit at Bangor's Ysbyty Gwynedd) by ambulance but they wouldn't take her, she was crying out for help," the statement added."I know she was being bullied online and in person, they would say nasty things about her and her looks.

A doctor had told her she needed to stop drinking because she had the liver of a 60-year-old."The day before she died we had been in all day and had a few cans.

I went to bed at 9 pm and Jade got in and snuggled next to me. The next morning she had moved, I saw she was on the sofa with Tom, he was on top of Jade.
