A baby boy has been mauled by a dog in a park in Merseyside. The 17-month-old has been rushed to hospital by air ambulance following the attack in Netherton this afternoon.
Merseyside Police confirmed the baby boy was mauled by a dog in Marian Gardens. Officers said the child suffered a leg injury after being bitten by the dog, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Police said the dog has been seized by police and its owner will be questioned. A Merseyside police spokesperson said on Sunday: "Emergency services were called to reports that a baby had been attacked by a dog in New Park Court on Bridge Lane in Bootle today.
