Aston Villa sporting director Jesus García Pitarch has urged for the Premier League to scrap relegations amid the suspension due to the coronavirus.
It remains to be seen if the season will eventually be finished given the current postponements. Matches are not going ahead as the UK continues to cope with the spread of the virus, with sport taking a back seat.
Games have been suspended until the weekend of April 4/5, but it is unclear whether that preliminary date will see players return to the pitch yet.
Should the season need to be scrapped, it also begs the question of what happens ahead of next season in terms of teams going up and down, along with European qualification.
