A woman who inherited a ring she thought was just "ugly" costume jewelry was staggered when she was told its true value on Antiques Roadshow.
In the clip, the guest says she was actually "embarrassed" to be presenting the oversized ring to expert Susan Rumfitt on the BBC Two show because she was so convinced it was worthless – but her mum convinced her to find out.
Examining the ring, Susan says it probably dates to the 1930s and has an Art Deco look to it and tells her that – far from being a "lump of glass" – the gem in the middle is a giant yellow sapphire.
