A man was bowled over when he was told the true value of a sculpture that had been in his family for years after being left the artwork by his late grandfather.
The art deco piece was valued on the BBC’s Antiques roadshow and ended up to be worth a staggering amount of money. Will Farmer, an expert in ceramics and an auctioneer, was clearly very excited about the piece – which depicts a semi-nude woman with a blunt haircut bathing with a robe draped around her shoulders.
He explained: “This is just pure French Art Deco and for me, it's about as good as it gets. “I mean, as an example in ceramic form I think it just ticks every box.
