Coronavirus infection rates continue to plummet across Greater Manchester

Coronavirus infection rates are continuing to plummet in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. In all ten of the region's boroughs, the infection rate remains lower than the national average, which is 593.7 cases per 100,000 people.

Stockport continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in the region. The borough recorded a rate of 434.1 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending February 11, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 357.9 cases per 100,000 population. A total of 10,148 people tested positive for coronavirus across the region in the week which ended on February 11.

The Greater Manchester weekly total has decreased by 5,963 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was down 37 per cent in the last week.
