Adorable husky saved owner's life after sniffing out cancerous lump in breast

dog a hero after she sniffed out a lump in her breast. Tanya Hibberd, 50, from Southampton, says her husky Sapphire saved her life after the pooch identified the cancerous lump.

Initially, the mum said she didn't understand her dog's cues because she assumed it was being more cuddly because she had just come back from a two-week holiday.Four years later, the mum is still cancer-free and has thanked the six-year-old pooch for detecting the cancer.The customer service team leader said: "We tell everybody that she smelt my cancer."She’s a very special dog.” The Daily Star recently highlighted how a clever yorkshire terrier jumped up and down on her owner's chest until she went to seek medical advice.

Bella Boo, 11, wouldn't stop until Karena took action and even refused to sleep in her usual spot to let her owner know that something was wrong.Karena said the bouncing started to hurt so much that she decided to check her chest for injuries, which is when she discovered a cancerous lump.The dog owner, from Blackpool, Lancashire, then had life-saving treatment which she may not have seeked if it wasn't for her genius dog."Bella started bouncing on me, and at one point she caught me – and I actually thought she’d bruised me, as I was very sore there," she said.“And I was feeling around, and I actually felt a lump, and I was thinking, ‘Is that a lump inside?’”"I wouldn’t be here without Bella doing that.“I didn’t think dogs could detect cancer, I thought it was a lot of hoo-ha really, but this proves that they can and how amazing they are.“I’m just so lucky to be here - little Bella-Boo saved my life.” To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up for one of our newsletters here ..
