Paige Smith, 21, and her housemate Zack were left stranded in Majorca for several days after their first flight to Manchester was cancelled and their rebooked flight was hit by further delays, reports Manchester Evening News.

They had jetted off to Palma from Manchester to soak up the sun last Monday (March 28) after arriving four hours early, and managed to get through security at the beleaguered airport.But their problems began when they woke for their return flight last Friday (April 1) to an email from EasyJet telling them that the flight was cancelled — leaving them stuck 1,300 miles away.Staff told them their only option would be to catch the next available flight the day after and be given a hotel room for the night, meaning they would miss their long-awaited graduation party.Retelling her experience, Paige said: "Our initial flight back was on the Friday, and we were supposed to get back to Manchester Airport at 1.30pm, and were planning to go to our friends' graduation party as all the people we live with are students.

When I woke up, I checked my emails and saw there was a message from easyJet at around 4am telling us the flight was cancelled."We had rushed around that morning and were about to leave to go the airport when luckily, I checked my emails.
