Zlatan Ibrahimovic has fired heavy criticism at former club Manchester United for their treatment of hero Wayne Rooney upon his Old Trafford exit.
The 40-year-old played 53 times for the Reds between 2016 and 2018, lifting Europa League and the League Cup in 2017 alongside the club’s all-time top goalscorer.
The following summer, Rooney left United after 13 years’ service to rejoin boyhood club Everton on a free transfer. In excerpts released ahead of the launch of his new book 'Adrenaline: My Untold Stories' next year, Ibrahimovic was less than impressed with the way the club handled the departure of one of their all-time greats.
