Former wonderkid Freddy Adu has revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo made him feel welcome during a trial at Manchester United aged just 16.
Adu garnered worldwide headlines in 2004 after signing for DC United as a 14-year-old, and inevitably the talented youngster started attracting attention from European football's elite clubs.
The gifted forward agreed to undergo a trial with United and trained with stars including Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo.
At the time the Portugal star was on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world, but, despite that, Adu explained that Ronaldo went out of his way to help him during his time in Manchester.
