When will lockdown end? One ex-government advisor reveals possible timeline

A former World Health ­Organisation executive has revealed his four-step strategy to ease Britain out of coronavirus lockdown.

Professor Karol Sikora said the first step would be to let small businesses with fewer than 50 staff open again on April 27.

All schools should be allowed to reopen and social distancing measures should be eased on May 4, the ex-director of the UN body's cancer unit argued.

Offices, bars and restaurants should be able to open their doors again on May 18, Prof Sikora, a former member of the Department of Health's Expert Advisory Group on cancer, said.
