Euro 2020 only just behind us, it is already time to turn our attention to the next major tournament: the Qatar World Cup, 2022.Normally international tournaments can feel few and far between, a real treat that only comes around every two years.But due to the Covid pandemic and the Euros being forced back from 2020 to 2021, the gap between the two tournaments feels a lot shorter.This is great news for Three Lions fans, who will be hoping that England’s excellent momentum from the campaign can be carried directly through into the ultimate tournament.The draw for the World Cup is just around the corner, on April 1.
The draw will give fans plenty to get excited about and will allow managers and their teams time to prepare for their specific upcoming opposition.The teams drawn will dictate who faces who is in the group stages, with sides hoping to get enough points to make it through to the knockout stage of the tournament afterwards.Groups will labelled A through to H, with the top-ranked seven teams and Qatar as hosts placed across the groups.In total 32 teams will be competing in the World Cup 2022.
