Coun Karina Carter, executive member for education at Trafford council, detailed the borough’s position at an executive meeting last night and was candid about the difficulty of the situation.
She said: “On national offer day we had sufficient places in Trafford. We offered 94pc first choice primary school places, 98pc second choice and 99pc third choice.
