Grandparents will not be able to safely see their grandchildren until tens of millions of people are vaccinated, the UK Government has warned.
England's deputy chief medical officer Professor Jonathan Van-Tam said "all of the rules still apply" even if grandparents have had their first vaccine dose.He also told people not to assume they will have any protection until at least 21 days have elapsed after their first dose.
It comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that the focus in Scotland had so far been on getting the vaccine to people living in care homes.
