Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk dislocated his finger and had it popped back in mid-match while playing for the Netherlands against Norway on Wednesday night.
Van Dijk is made of stern stuff, having overcome a near ten-month injury lay-off to feature in the opening four games of the season for Liverpool and the Netherlands.
But pain was etched across the 30-year-old's face as his finger was put back in its natural position by medics early in the second half.
Realising that his finger had been dislocated, Van Dijk trudged over to the side of the pitch where he was seen to by members of the medical team.
