Van driver wins settlement from police over claims officer "grabbed' his throat

van driver who claims he had his throat grabbed by an officer has been awarded £7,000 in an out-of-court settlement from Nottinghamshire Police.

Mark Tassi was stopped whilst driving on Crabtree Road, Bulwell by an unmarked police car, according to Nottingham Live. He was approached by two officers who suspected him of driving aggressively, which he denied, and a struggle ensued after he handed over his driving licence for checks.

The 45-year-old filed a complaint claiming excessive force was used when one of the officers allegedly put his hands around his neck."It was horrendous," said Mr Tassi, a married dad-of-three."I was struggling to breathe, I could not swallow - I was struggling to swallow water."Mr Tassi, who now lives in.
