Vacuum packed bags of drugs worth tens of thousands of pounds seized

direct to your inbox A man has been arrested after police uncovered £50,000 of suspected drugs and tens of thousands of pounds in cash during dawn raids in the High Peak.

At 6am on Wednesday, officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) executed warrants at addresses on Kingfisher Way and Howards Meadow in Simmondley and Woolley Bridge Road in Glossop, Derbyshire.

They discovered five kilos of what is believed to be cannabis worth an estimated £50,000 in vacuum-packed bags. They have been sent for testing.A total of £80,000 was also found in bundles stuffed into carrier bags.A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession with intent to supply drugs.
