US deny they were secretly behind Ukraine's sinking of Russian flagship Moskva

Ukraine's sinking of Russia's flagship vessel and denied having any involvement. It comes after US officials previously alleged that Pentagon provided intel that helped Ukraine identify and strike the Moska last month.

Moska is the flagship of Russia's Black Sea fleet and such claims provide another sign that president Joe Biden's administration is easing its limitations on how far they will go to aid Ukraine's fight against Russia.

The targeted support was said to have contributed to the sinking of the ship as part of the administration's efforts to provide real-time battlefield intelligence to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's country, reports New York Times.Officials said that the intelligence includes locating anticipated soldiers movements, obtained from a recent American assessment of Moscow’s battle plan for battling in Donbas, Ukraine.But Pentagon's press secretary John Kirby has dismissed the claims and said yesterday (Thursday, May 6): “The United States provides battlefield intelligence to help Ukraine defend their country."We do not provide intelligence on the location of senior military leaders on the battlefield or participate in targeting decisions of the Ukrainian military.“Ukraine combines information that we and other partners provide with the intelligence that they themselves are gathering, and then they make their own decisions and they take their own actions."National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson told The Hill: "We do not provide intelligence with the intent to kill Russian generals.”As well as intelligence, the US has handed Ukraine around $3.7billion (£3.01bn) in security assistance since the start of the invasionIt has been reported that the Pentagon has also boosted training for Ukrainian.
