After highs of up to 29C yesterday, Brits will bid farewell to the heatwave as this weekend could see thunderstorms and torrential rain and temperatures to plummet to 10C.
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, but it might not leave any traces as the weekend gears up for a sharp plunge.
But the Met Office warned the heatwave will be followed by a drop in temperature from Wednesday in the first week of relaxed lockdown measures.
On Monday, the temperatures soared to 27.6C in Porthmadog, Wales, and more hot and sunny weather was welcomed on Tuesday. Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna said: "The sunny weather will certainly continue for a couple more days but from Tuesday we are starting to see some more unsettled weather
