Thousands of Brits are appearing to defy warnings over the risk of coronavirus by packing beaches on what is expected to be the hottest day of the year.
Temperatures soared to 32C in some parts of the UK yesterday and are set to be even hotter today as the sizzling heatwave continues.
Popular beaches such as Brighton, Bournemouth and Southend were packed early on Thursday, but there appeared to be a lack of social distancing.
Earlier today, Dr Hilary Jones warned Good Morning Britain viewers not to flock to packed beaches in the hot weather. He addressed the severe consequences of Covid-19, especially on those above the age of 50, and his fear that cases could increase again if people were to get "complacent".
