Locked down Britain will bake in its hottest day of the year today as temperatures soar into the mid-20s – making it hotter than Australia.
A mini, week-long heatwave gripping the shutdown nation will send the mercury rising even further today as figures top 23C in the south-east.
The Met Office has forecasted a warm day with sunny spells, while BBC Weather has predicted a “largely dry and warm day with spells of sunshine”.
The glorious weather will make the UK hotter than Australia – with the likes of Sydney set for 18C, Melbourne 19C and Adelaide 22C.
