He had surgery on his left lung on January 8 and the CT scan was ordered on January 14 – only for him to leave the hospital the next day.In a statement, step-daughter Samantha Tinkler said: “He was told he needed a CT scan.
He got fed up of waiting. He signed a form to self-discharge against the advice of the doctors and all his family.”Gary was readmitted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital on January 24.
