The suspects were investigated after allegations they committed perjury at an inquest into the death of a John Ahmed. Crown lawyers first decided there was insufficient evidence to charge them.But the family of Mr Ahmed, who died in 2015, submitted an appeal against the decision made by the Crown Prosecution Service in the North West.
Now a review has been carried out by a specialist prosecutor at the CPS In London.The Manchester Evening News understands they have concluded that there is sufficient evidence to proceed and have said that the officers should be.
