A school sent a tragic final text to a friend before walking in front of a train. Sam Connor died after being hit by the train at Chertsey railway station at around 4pm on July 15, 2019.
An inquest at Woking Coroner's Court on Thursday (December 10) heard how Sam, who was in Year 9, had mentioned a 'suicide pact' to friends and had spoken in school about taking his own life, Surrey Live reported.
Statements were read out from pupils in the court. One read: "That day [July 15] he had been joking about killing himself but he had done it lots of times before so we thought he was just joking." The coroner also heard that Sam had texted a pupil to say "I am going for a while, do not forget me" before the incident.
