The professional dancer had been on holiday with his family when he fell ill. He was on holiday with his wife Ola and two-month-old daughter Ella in Abu Dhabi.
As reported by Birmingham Live, James, 43, told fans he had rushed straight to see a doctor after he returned home. He thanked fans for their advice on the condition.
He said: "Home from an amazing family holiday - straight to doc's and it’s been confirmed I do actually have shingles like most of you suggested.
