The head of the Tokyo Olympics Yoshiro Mori is to resign after saying women 'talk too much', it has been reported. The president of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics organizing committee, 83, is set to step down over sexist remarks he made saying women talked too much, the Fuji News Network reported on Thursday.

In a tweet Japan's Mainichi newspaper said: "Yoshiro Mori, chairman of the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, took responsibility for making statements that looked down on women and informed others of his intention to resign." Mori is likely to express his intent to step down on Friday when organisers of the Tokyo Olympics will hold a gathering of executive board members, the newspaper reported.
