Thiago Silva has revealed he turned down a last-ditch approach to stay at PSG after being dismayed by the way they handled his expiring contract.
The Brazilian defender was informed the club would not be keeping him on long-term after a phone call with PSG sporting director Leonardo.
Silva claims he was not even offered a prospective new deal, despite conflicting reports he had snubbed a big-money extension.
Instead, Leonardo only asked if Silva would stay on until the end of the season to help with the Champions League run-in. Naturally Silva obliged, but his final weeks at the club and subsequent move to Chelsea were not as he would have foreseen things panning out.
