deadline.comThe highly-anticipated Traitors Season 2 UK has unveiled first-look image along with launch date. The BBC‘s follow-up to last year’s word-of-mouth smash will kick off Wednesday 3 January at 9 p.m.
GMT (1 p.m. PT) with host Claudia Winkleman overseeing the next group of wannabe traitors and faithfuls. Episodes 2 and 3 will be available on BBC iPlayer immediately after the first, following a similar pattern to last year, which has been praised for creating watercooler moments while allowing audiences who are behind to catch up.
The BAFTA-winning guessing game format sees 22 strangers aim to win up to £120,000 ($151,000). Three traitors are given the opportunity to ‘murder’ contestants, while remaining faithfuls have to smoke them out, and the group compete in daily challenges to keep the prize fund steady.
Last year’s first season was a runaway hit, praised for its diverse casting and shock factor, with a third greenlit prior to the second airing – a rare move.
