coronavirus hotspots across the region are now in Manchester, the latest data shows. Covid cases are continuing to spike in the areas around the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and Salford University campuses.
Fallowfield, a suburb home to thousands of students, is the region's Covid hotspot and has more cases than anywhere else in the country.The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) data shows that 259 cases were recorded in the area in the week from September 23 to September 29.But Public Health England figures (PHE) show the rate is Fallowfield is continuing to rocket, and that number had risen to 285 positive cases by September 30.
