Daily Star Sport reveals that the English top flight is responsible for bringing in the highest number of fans through the stadium gates in the 2021-22 season so far — and by some margin too.

Unsurprisingly, Manchester United are perched at the summit despite a difficult season so far for the Red Devils, with Ralf Rangnick ’s side locked in the battle for the top four.

While the 13-time Premier League winners have had some issues on the pitch, it has clearly not impacted their gate receipts, with an average attendance of 73,022.It is all the more impressive when considering the total capacity inside Old Trafford is 74,140, meaning United is full for nearly every fixture they have had this season.Arsenal are a long way adrift from rivalling United’s figures, but the Gunners have had no trouble in filling up the Emirates Stadium this season.

The north London outfit come in at second with 59,556 fans on average coming through the doors.West Ham’s move to the London Stadium has helped propel them up to third in the list at 58,830, while Tottenham have some ground to make up with their 60,000-seater £1bn arena only averaging at 54,677.HAVE YOUR SAY: Which football stadium is your favourite to visit and why?
