Queen Elizabeth II has had vast array of pet names since she took over the throne from her father, himself often referred to as Bertie.
Her close family have a plethora of their own names for the 94-year-old monarch.One surprising nickname for Liz is Gary. The Queen became Gary when a young Prince William struggled to get his head around the word Granny.
He stumbled over the g-word and instead came up with Gary, according to the Daily Mail.Royal correspondent Richard Kay wrote: "A guest who went to help asked who Gary was, assuming it must be a member of the royal household."‘I’m Gary,’ explained the Queen, as she scooped him up.
