Coronavirus restrictions could be tightened across England after Christmas in an effort to control the spread of the Omicron variant.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid told Sky News that ministers are discussing the latest coronavirus data almost hourly with scientific advisers.
He added the Government will "do what is necessary" when asked about possible further measures.
