Looking for a home to rent? New statistics show Trafford is the most expensive area of Greater Manchester in terms of renting cost, with Wigan the cheapest, the Manchester Evening News can reveal.
The data, however, reveals a huge annual increase in renting costs. The costs of renting a home in Oldham and Stockport have risen more than any other areas in Greater Manchester - at 14.7 per cent and 14 per cent respectively.
Nationally, the cost of renting in the UK has risen by an average of 8.4 per cent over the last 12 months, although the increase is more than that figure for every one of Greater Manchester's 10 boroughs. READ MORE: Major update on the future of the Britons Protection People renting homes in England paid an average of £1,327 a month in the year to August, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.
In Greater Manchester, that figure stands at £917. In Scotland the average home costs £969 a month to rent, and in Wales £752 a month.
