Families on a street are being plagued by hordes of rats 'chewing through walls' and 'leaving their babies'. Bashall Street residents in Bolton, Greater Manchester, say the rodents have been terrorising them for years, with some now fearing for their children's safety.
Alexandra Barlow and partner Daniel Gerencser first noticed the rats two years ago, gathering on broken furniture they had in the garden during a home renovation. READ MORE: Bloodthirsty rat takes down pigeon and drags it beneath car in a ferocious battleA skip seemed to solve the issue, but as fly-tipping in the area increased the couple - who now have an eight-month-old daughter Laura - started finding rats in their home, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Alexandra said: "When we first moved in, I noticed the far end of Bashall Street was filled with extra rubbish. "Over time, people also started leaving rubbish out on the back street, further down our end.
It’s almost like fly-tipping is contagious."More rats have been spotted to the point where we are finding them in our houses.
