Greater Manchester Police seized a terrifying 'Rambo' knife from masked males "acting suspiciously" in Eccles on Tuesday night.

Officers from the force's Transport Unit said they saw three males wearing balaclavas in the town. They intercepted the males using plain-clothes tactics and a large knife was seized.

Police said one male was arrested on suspicion of carrying the knife, and has since been charged with possession of a bladed article.

He was also charged with possession of Class B drugs. Posting to Twitter at 1am, GMP Salford said: "#GMPTransportUnit officers tonight sighted males acting suspiciously wearing balaclavas in #Eccles and, using plain clothes tactics, intercepted the males.
