The crash took place on St Ann's Road North in Heald Green at around 7.20pm last Sunday (April 25). Azaan Darr, 18, was taken to hospital after a Volkswagen Golf travelling at 30mph 'mounted the pavement' and hit him, his dad Atif told the M.E.N.
The car fled the scene. Detectives launched an investigation and today (Saturday) arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 assault.
