ChronicleLive reports.Prosecutor, Rebecca Gibson, said Durning was living with his grandparents at the time of the offence on December 1 2020.Prior to the fire, Durning had arrived home carrying several crates of lager and was asked to go to his bedroom as he'd been drinking.At 1.30am, he woke his grandparents asking them to "get the fire brigade" as his bedroom was on fire and he’d fallen asleep with a cigarette.His grandfather attempted to put out the flames on Durning's bed until fire crews arrived and took over.Once the fire services left, Durning was asked to leave the property but took exception and lost his temper.Mrs Gibson said: "He was agitated and tipped a can of cider all over the walls and floors of the sitting room."He was.
