The 43-year-old actress will continue to play the Force-sensitive fighter in the upcoming spinoff,, which follows the adventures of the character first established in the animated series . While speaking to ET at  Celebration in Anaheim, California, Dawson gushed over being able to be the “literal physical embodiment” of this character, which comes long after fans campaigned for her to bring the role to life onscreen. “I really love being able to not just try to imagine this character to life, you know, [and] to get to take her on physically,” she said.

Disney+ has confirmed its Mandalorian spin-off, Ahsoka, will return for a second season. Set after the fall of the Empire, it stars Rosario Dawson as former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano.

It was announced in April at the Star Wars Celebration fan convention, that Lars Mikkelsen would be set to reprise his role as the “Star Wars” villain and embody the character in the live-action series. Thrawn was originally created by author Timothy Zahn as part of a series of 1990s Star Wars novels chronicling the events following 1983’s “Return of the Jedi,” and he quickly became a fan-favorite character. However, after Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, Thrawn’s character was removed from the official “Star Wars” canon. Then in 2016, Dave Filoni revived the character and brought him back into a galaxy far, far away after adding him to the “Star Wars Rebels” animated series. Throughout the show, Mikkelsen voiced the character.

It was previously announced that the show would debut in August, but it is now confirmed it will premiere on Aug. 23. Rosario Dawson stars in the series as Ahsoka Tano, whom she first played in Season 2 of “The Mandalorian” and again in “The Book of Boba Fett.” The official logline states, “Set after the fall of the Empire, ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’ follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.” Disney has also released a new TV spot for the series, which can be seen below.
