Night in the Woods co-creators Bethany Hockenberry and Scott Benson have announced their game Revenant Hill.Revenant Hill is the first project from Hockenberry and Benson’s new studio The Glory Society and was unveiled during the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase last night (May 24).The game is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and looks quite similar to 2017’s Night in the Woods while the game’s cat protagonist — Twigs — also looks a lot like Mae. Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales have finally received the long-awaited first look at gameplay for the eagerly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ahead of its Fall release.For the May 24 PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac Games put together a 12-minute cut of in-game cutscenes and gameplay from the upcoming game to give gamers a taste of what’s to come later this year.After being teased in the 2021 announcement trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, gamers are finally introduced to Kraven the Hunter, who kicks off the gameplay trailer with his sights set on Manhattan, Peter Parker and Miles Morales in search for his “equal”.We then see Kraven’s goons on the hunt for Dr. Curt Connors (the Lizard), while Parker – now donning the slick black symbiote suite – fights them off, snarling dark comments their way.

Convergence: A League of Legends Story has been confirmed, with the time-bending platformer set to launch later this month.Following its announcement in 2021, Convergence will launch on May 23 for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox and PlayStation platforms.As for what it’s about, the game will follow League Of Legends champion Ekko through the city of Zaun, which was the setting of Netflix’s 2021 animation Arcane.The game will be a platformer with an emphasis on parkour and Ekko’s signature ability — just like in League Of Legends, the hero is equipped with a device that allows him to manipulate time.“Developed by Double Stallion Games, Convergence: A League Of Legends Story is a 2D action platformer with an incredible art style that focuses on tight dynamic combat and unique exploration opportunities afforded by Ekko’s ability to travel in space and time,” reads the game’s Steam page.In the latest trailer for Convergence, Ekko is shown time-travelling to meet a younger version of himself in an attempt to save Zaun from a “devastating future”. Besides Ekko, League Of Legends fans will be able to spot a number of returning characters from the game — including Jinx, Warwick, and Camille.Check it out below.Convergence will arrive just over a month after The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story, which was published by Riot Forge last month (April 18).Like Convergence, The Mageseeker is a League spin-off — though instead of following Ekko, it stars Demacian mage Sylas as he leads a rebellion against the kingdom.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have confirmed an August release date for their upcoming sci-fi game Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon, with a new gameplay trailer showcasing the game in action.Armored Core 6 will arrive on August 25, 2023 — just over 11 years since the last mainline Armored Core game was released.As for platforms, the upcoming game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and has been priced at £49.99 on Steam.The first gameplay trailer for Armored Core 6 was shared today (April 27), revealing players piloting a customisable mech and pitting it against a wide variety of rival robots.Check out the trailer below.The trailer confirms that players’ mechs will be highly customisable, with the protagonist using everything from cluster rockets to lasers to take down opponents; while one scene shows the player swapping their mech’s legs for tank tracks.While FromSoftware is yet to touch on the game’s plot, the Steam page for Armored Core 6 says players will “pilot their mech in fast-paced, omni-directional battles, taking advantage of massive stages and their mech’s mobility on land and in the air to ensure victory”.“Customise Armored Core parts to suit a large variety of playstyles,” the page continues.

Horizon Forbidden West developer Guerrilla Games has confirmed that its co-studio director, Angie Smets, is departing to lead PlayStation Studios‘ development strategy.In a blog published today (April 24), Guerrilla shared that Smets will be moving to work as head of development strategy at its parent company, PlayStation Studios.During her 20 years at Guerrilla, Smets served as executive producer for Horizon Zero Dawn and last year’s follow-up Forbidden West, along with the studio’s Killzone series.Exciting news! Capcom has kicked off a surprise Street Fighter 6 beta for PlayStation users, though fans of the upcoming fighting game will need to wait until next week to play on Xbox or PC.The Street Fighter 6 showcase was broadcast last night (April 20), where Capcom revealed it was dropping a demo immediately after the stream ended.“Create your avatar, explore World Tour mode and start fighting,” teased Lil Wayne, who hosted the showcase.While the Street Fighter 6 beta is available now on PS4 and PS5, it won’t arrive on PC or Xbox Series X|S until next Wednesday (April 26).While Capcom has not announced a closing date for the beta, a recent blog post from the studio has confirmed what will be on offer. Both Luke and Ryu will be available as playable characters, while players will also be able to create and control their own avatar — which Capcom noted will carry through to the full version of the game when it launches in June.The beta will also let players try out the beginning of Street Fighter 6‘s single-player World Tour mode, along with One On One fights and a range of tutorials and character guides for newcomers.However, some parts of the game – such as its multiplayer modes and full roster of fighters – will not be available to try out during the beta.

Activision Blizzard have accused the company of losing workers and “creating crisis maps” of what it can release, due to issues with the company’s remote working policy.In a series of tweets posted yesterday, World Of Warcraft game producer Adam ‘Glaxigrav’ claimed he has lost “yet another” employee this week.“Blizzard is losing amazing talent because someone in power doesn’t listen to the game directors who make his products,” wrote Adam, who said Blizzard can’t “make better Dragonflights […] If we get rid of everyone who made it”.“‘Some talent’ is undermining the point,” he continued. “We are creating crisis maps of what we can or cannot ship.

Destiny 2 developer Bungie has claimed it has “irrefutable evidence” that a content creator – believed to be Ekuegan Teko-Agbo – was responsible for leaking news of upcoming Destiny 2 content.Earlier in the month, screenshots of a limited-access Bungie presentation were leaked – revealing details on a number of new content and changes coming to the game in Season 21.Last week, Bungie acknowledged these leaks came from “confidential summits” that the studio presents to some of Destiny 2‘s content creators.Breaches of this trust could result in our inability to hold more summits. Fortnite and Doctor Who could be on the way.In a tweet published over the weekend (April 15), Twitter user iFireMonkey – who has a track record of correctly predicting Fortnite updates – shared what they know about the battle royale’s rumoured Doctor Who crossover.The data miner shared that, based on what they are “aware of”, the crossover will feature a two-week event and offer players free rewards in return for completing challenges.The Doctor Who event will also reportedly add two skins, two pickaxe cosmetics, a glider skin and an emote to Fortnite‘s item shop, in addition to a free “Beep the Meep” spray. Bungie has acknowledged that it “missed the mark” with parts of last month’s Lightfall expansion for Destiny 2.In a blog, published last night (April 5), Bungie praised Lightfall for beating the studio’s sales expectations and bringing in the most concurrent players the game had seen “in years”.However, game director Joe Blackburn acknowledged that with the expansion’s launch, Bungie “didn’t provide the full clarity we originally planned for when we set out creating Lightfall”.The expansion’s Steam reviews currently sit at a ‘Mostly Negative’ rating, as players have reported experiencing technical issues, a disappointing story, and limited content.“It’s clear we missed the mark on some of our goals and needed to make updates based on constructive feedback,” said Bungie in its recent blog.As a result, Bungie has listed a number of areas that it plans to revisit.

Hello Games has revealed the Interceptor update for its open-world sci-fi title No Man’s Sky, which has added new enemies, planets and ships for players to tackle.Update 4.2 for No Man’s Sky, titled Interceptor, was revealed today (April 5) and pits players against corrupted planets that have spread throughout the galaxy.These corrupted planets offer new buildings, resources and equipment for adventurous players to discover, including a unique jetpack. However, the loot will be guarded by robot guardians who have been “twisted” by corruption.“The strange power flowing through corrupted worlds has warped the Sentinels beyond recognition,” teased Hello Games.

Activision Blizzard has detailed recent changes to its Ricochet anti-cheat system, including developer-side match replays and a number of creative ways to frustrate Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 cheaters.In a blog, posted yesterday (March 5), Activision Blizzard confirmed that its kernel-level anti-cheat software Ricochet had been updated with “several new layers of security and detections” to battle cheaters.One such feature is a new replay investigation tool, which will allow teams at Activision Blizzard to watch any completed match to review its footage for signs of cheating.At the “highest tiers” of ranked in Modern Warfare 2, Activision has shared that matches will be automatically recorded in case they need to be investigated for cheating.“Though it’s a new tool for Team Ricochet, Replay has already helped with investigations into suspicious accounts resulting in permanent bans,” shared the company.Additionally, Ricochet has been updated with new software to detect third-party hardware, which can be used to minimise recoil for users. Anyone caught using this sort of hardware will first receive a warning about their device, but continued use can lead to suspensions or even bans.Elsewhere, a number of creative in-game solutions from Call Of Duty: Vanguard have been implemented in an attempt to frustrate cheaters during matches.

Mojang and Wizards Of The Coast have announced the launch of Dungeons & Dragons downloadable content (DLC) for Minecraft, which will introduce a “story-driven” campaign and five classes to choose from.The Dungeons & Dragons DLC is set to launch on the Minecraft Marketplace in spring 2023, and will include a number of enemies, locations and features from Wizards Of The Coast’s 1974 game.In the DLC, players will choose from five Dungeons & Dragons classes – including Barbarian and Wizard – and explore five Forgotten Realms from the D&D universe.

Diablo franchise at Blizzard, has shared that not all classes in Diablo 4 should feel equally balanced at all points.Diablo 4 kicked off its first beta on Friday (March 17), giving players an opportunity to play three of the game’s classes before the game’s next open beta on March 24.While two classes – Necromancer and Druid – are yet to be unlocked for players, those who took part in the early beta got to try out the Sorcerer, Rogue and Barbarian classes.However, a number of social media posts and threads on the game’s subreddit have claimed that Diablo 4‘s Barbarian class feels much weaker than its counterparts.Speaking to NME‘s Jake Tucker, Fergusson acknowledged that balancing would play a larger part in Diablo 4 since the game will place more emphasis on player versus player (PvP) interactions.However, Fergusson shared that although classes should feel balanced to play against each other, not every class should feel as powerful at the same time as others.“There is a lot of balance there, but the trick around balance is that it’s a balance over time — not a balance of the moment,” shared Fergusson. “Not all classes at level five should have the same power.”“Due to the enchantment specialisation, Sorcerers will have the most skills of any class because [with] Barbarians having four weapons, they will have the most legendary slots of any class.

Destiny 2 expansion Lightfall launched this week, and players are still uncovering everything it contains – including a new emote that references an iconic scene from the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime.Added with the launch of Lightfall, the emote is named Torturous Dance. The cosmetic is a reference to the fan-favourite Torture Dance that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure characters perform in one scene of the anime’s Golden Wind arc.When equipped, the Torturous Dance lets players perform the same dance that’s seen in the show.
