LCD Soundsystem reunited its original line-up last night (March 26) for a special DFA Records anniversary show – check out footage below.As announced last month, James Murphy and co. threw a party in New York to celebrate two decades of their label.

Peter Hook helped unveil a new mural of Joy Division bandmate Ian Curtis in Macclesfield town centre this afternoon (March 26).The bassist and co-founder of New Order cut the ribbon alongside Akse, the Manchester-based street artist who painted the mural, telling those in attendance: “I am actually very honoured to be here, and to do this, because to me it’s about time Ian came home.”The mural, funded by Cheshire East Council, is based on an original photograph taken by Kevin Cummins at The Factory/Russell Club in Hulme, Manchester on 13 July 1979. It adorns a building on Mill Street opposite Macclesfield bus station.Ahead of the unveiling, Curtis said earlier in the week: “I’m watching all the people going down the street and every single one of them is drawn to it.“Some young kids walking down had no idea who he was but now they do. Hopefully they’ll listen to the music and get the gist of what we were trying to do as kids.”Some of Akse’s other recent works include murals of the late British army officer and fundraiser Captain Tom Moore and Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford.He said it was an honour to paint the portrait of Curtis and hoped local people were excited about it.“Although I’ve been working on murals most of my life, it’s still always an incredible feeling to get to the end of the journey – well the end of my journey at least,” Akse said.

It will be the first time the Nashville quartet takes the stage together since their split in 2008.“If Jack White offers for you to open for him, you don’t really say no to that,” Pearl told NME.

AURORA and Brian Eno will sit down in London next month for a conversation on the climate emergency and how the energy of music can benefit the planet.The talk will take place as part of the 14th edition of Green Events & Innovations Conference (GEI), which is set to take place at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London on April 29.Eno, having recently founded Earth Percent, a charity providing a simple way for the music industry to support the most impactful organisations addressing the climate emergency, joins the conference to discuss ‘Directing the energy of music for the benefit of the planet’ in a Keynote conversation with the Norwegian alt-pop star.The pair will discuss their visions for “directing the energy of music for the benefit of the planet”, as per the event’s press release.

Yard Act made their US TV debut last night (March 24) with an electrifying performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon – watch it below.The Leeds band played the title track from their acclaimed debut record ‘The Overload’, which hit Number Two in the UK albums chart upon its release in January.Appearing live in Fallon’s studio in New York City, Yard Act delivered an energetic take on the song as their circular black-and-white logo spun behind them. The Killers have shared seven new reimagined versions of songs from their 2021 album ‘Pressure Machine’ on the deluxe version of the record, which is out today (March 25).The expanded version, which you can listen to below, features four different versions of closing track ‘The Getting By’, plus a new version of ‘Runaway’ and two further takes on ‘West Hills’.‘The Getting By II’ is much more rousing and characteristic of the band than the original while other versions are even more downbeat than the 2021 cut.‘Running Horses II’ is also more upbeat than the previous version of the track and no longer features Phoebe Bridgers.Opening track ‘West Hills’ meanwhile now features a reworked gospel version of the song.Last year, The Killers revealed to NME that they’re already at work on a “heavier” new record – and that this one is likely to feature all four members.The band’s previous record ‘Imploding The Mirage‘ came out in 2020 and saw guitarist Dave Keuning sit out the recording sessions to enjoy some time at home at San Diego instead.

Recorded largely at OKV Central, Vile’s home studio in the Mount Airy suburb of Philadelphia, he said in a statement of the self-produced record: “When Waylon Jennings became an outlaw country artist, he liked to record at Hillbilly Central, which was Tompall Glaser’s studio.

Lykke Li has announced details of a new album, ‘EYEYE’, described as her “most intimate project to date” and an “immersive audiovisual album”.Sharing the news today today (March 24), the album sees Li reunite with longtime collaborator Björn Yttling, their first time working together since her 2014 album, ‘I’ll Never Learn’. He had previously worked Li on her first three albums.

Liam Gallagher has confirmed that he is filming a new music video on a rooftop “up North” today (March 24).The former Oasis frontman is set to release his third solo studio album, ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’, on May 27. Spoon have shared a new remix EP containing three alternate versions of their song ‘Wild’, including a remix by Jack Antonoff.Antonoff co-wrote the original song, which appeared on latest Spoon album ‘Lucifer On The Sofa’. His new rendition of ‘Wild’ is a little cleaner than the version that appears on the album, featuring Antonoff’s crisp pop production throughout.Antonoff’s remix is included along with a dub rework courtesy of reggae legend Dennis Bovell, and a “trashy” version that turns up the fuzz.

Ocean Colour Scene frontman Simon Fowler has opened up about being outed as gay by the tabloids in the 1990s.Speaking in a new interview for NME’s Does Rock ‘N’ Roll Kill Braincells?! when asked about The Sun revealing his sexuality in 1998, Fowler said: “I don’t think it was a big deal.
