Damon Albarn has spoken about the possibility of working with Billie Eilish in the future.The Blur and Gorillaz frontman joined the pop star onstage during her headline set at Coachella 2022 in April to perform joint renditions of ‘Feel Good Inc’ and ‘Happier Than Ever’.“This man changed my life in a lot of ways and changed my complete view of what music could be, and what art could be, and what creation could be,” Eilish told the audience.“My first favourite band ever was The Good, The Bad and the Queen when I was six and Blur changed the world and Gorillaz changed the world, and this man is literally a genius, and that’s that.”Prior to that team-up, Albarn hailed Eilish and her brother/collaborator Finneas as “really interesting songwriter[s]” in an interview with the LA Times. He praised the singer’s “minor and odd” sound, adding: “I think she’s exceptional.”Speaking to Apple Music 1 today (September 27), Albarn was asked whether a studio-based project with Eilish could happen at some point.“Yeah, it will.

Gaz Coombes has announced his fourth solo album ‘Turn The Car Around’ – listen to new single ‘Don’t Say It’s Over’ below.The Supergrass frontman is due to release the record on January 13 via Hot Fruit Recordings/ Virgin Music (pre-order/pre-save here).The forthcoming record serves as the final part of a trilogy that began with Coombes’ 2015 LP ‘Matador’ and continued with his most recent full-length, 2018’s ‘World’s Strongest Man’.Written and recorded by the singer-songwriter in his Oxfordshire studio, the album taps into the sonic palettes and lyrical themes of its aforementioned predecessors.“‘Turn The Car Around’ is a record that I’ve been building up to for the last seven years,” Coombes explained in a statement. It’s said that the project “captures the ups and downs of modern life and all the small print in between”.The groove-led new single ‘Don’t Say It’s Over’ sees Coombes look back on the first night he met his future wife.“When I wrote ‘Don’t Say It’s Over’ I had in mind wandering through some bustling holiday town at night, two people sharing strange and beautiful moments together,” he said of the track.“The feeling of love and all its complications.

Four Tet has announced two immersive shows at London’s Alexandra Palace in 2023.The producer and DJ – aka Kieran Hebden – will be performing at the venue on May 24 and 25 for a show which boasts “42,000+ immersive hanging lights and full exemplary surround sound for an experience like no other”, courtesy of Squidsoup.Limited tickets for the shows can be registered through Ticketmaster Request here now until midnight this Sunday (October 2).Requests will be confirmed on October 4 before tickets go on general sale at 10am BST on October 6. The Lathums have been announced as very special guest headliners at this weekend’s Neighbourhood Festival.The Wigan band were announced last minute to perform at the Manchester Academy as part of the festival across the city centre this Saturday (October 1). Blur drummer Dave Rowntree has announced details of his debut solo album ‘Radio Songs’ and shared new single ‘Devil’s Island’.The record, which is released via Cooking Vinyl on January 23, 2023, was produced by Leo Abrahams, who has previously worked with Wild Beasts, Brian Eno, Ghostpoet.“The idea of Radio Songs is me spinning through the dial,” he said. “It sounds like you’ve got a radio tuned to some static and you spin the dial, and the song pops out of it.
