Sugarcubes drummer Siggi Baldursson has spoken of his time working with Björk, including the time she tried out the song ‘Human Behaviour’ with the band.Björk enjoyed international success with the Icelandic post-punk band before they disbanded in 1992 and she went on to release her first solo album ‘Debut’ in 1993. Easy Life have shared a new single called ‘Antifreeze’ – you can listen to it below.The song serves as the latest preview of the Leicester band’s second studio album ‘Maybe In Another Life’, which is due for release on October 7 via Island (pre-order/pre-save here).‘Antifreeze’ was written during the COVID lockdown by frontman Murray Matravers and US bedroom pop artist Gus Dapperton.“[I’ve] been meaning to write a song with [Dapperton] since we met,” Easy Life wrote on social media upon the track premiering as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record last night (September 14).“It’s inspired by the winter and all its icy emotions. White Lies have shared a new song called ‘Trouble In America’, taken from an upcoming bonus edition of their 2022 album ‘As I Try Not To Fall Apart’.The trio’s latest album came out in February, and featured the singles ‘Blue Drift‘, ‘I Don’t Want To Go To Mars‘, ‘Am I Really Going To Die‘ and the album’s title track.On October 21, they will release a bonus edition of the album featuring four previously unreleased tracks. Marcus Mumford has spoken of how the advice Neil Young gave him a decade ago influenced his debut solo album.The Mumford & Sons frontman is due to release ‘(self-titled)’ this Friday (September 16) via Island (pre-order here). He’s already previewed the project with the singles ‘Grace’ and ‘Cannibal’.Speaking to NME recently, Mumford explained how the process of writing the imminent new record has changed him as a songwriter.“Neil Young sat me down about 10 years ago and told me the importance of recorded music,” the musician explained, “and that I should pay more attention to the way in which we record because I was always [like], ‘Ah, it’s just an advert for a live show.’ He was like, ‘No man, these things last.'”Mumford continued: “I felt like on this record, I listened to that [advice].

Death Cab For Cutie returned to their Live From Home streams this week – watch them cover R.E.M. and debut new song ‘Pepper’ below.During the first COVID lockdown in 2020, Death Cab frontman Ben Gibbard launched the Live From Home series, which saw him stream to fans at 4pm every single day, sharing covers and raising over £200,000 for local charities in the Seattle area.Ahead of the release of their 10th studio album, ‘Asphalt Meadows’, this Friday (September 16), the band returned for a special edition of Live From Home on Monday night, which carried on Gibbard’s trend of mixing originals with cover versions.During the set, the band covered R.E.M.’s ‘Near Wild Heaven’ and shared a version of unreleased ‘Asphalt Meadows’ track ‘Pepper’.Check the full performance out below.Speaking to NME this month, Gibbard discussed how his Live From Home performances gave him structure and belief during the pandemic.“I was just feeling so anxious and watching too much news,” Gibbard told NME of his headspace in the early pandemic before ‘Live From Home’ began.

Big Thief have announced plans for a world tour in 2023.The jaunt will include several dates in the UK which kick off at Gateshead Sage on April 5, along with further dates in Edinburgh, Manchester, and Cardiff, followed by two shows in London which wrap up at the Eventim Apollo on April 12.This will be followed a series of European dates throughout the rest of the month.Tickets for the UK shows go on sale this Friday (September 16) at 10am and can be purchased here. Wet Leg have updated fans on why they didn’t perform two of their recent US tour dates, citing “mental and physical health” concerns.The duo have been touring their “instant classic” debut album across the States, and were due to play Abiquiú, New Mexico and the Westword Music Showcase in Denver, Colorado on September 9 and 10 respectively. The Snuts have won the battle to release their forthcoming new album ‘Burn The Empire’ a week early.It comes after the band recently called on their fans to “bombard” Parlophone Records so that they can hear the record before their UK tour kicks off at Bristol O2 Academy on October 2.They wrote on Twitter at the time: “Growing up watching bands we always wished we could hear their new album before going to the show. We asked our record label Parlophone if we could release out second record ‘Burn The Empire’ early to allow us all to be able to connect with the new songs together and absolutely rip it up on the tour – to this we were told no.”They continued: “Since then, we have found out the records are ready to go to the store and can be delivered to you all.

Manic Street Preachers and Suede have announced a co-headline US and Canadian tour. Cavetown has shared details of his new album ‘Worm Food’ alongside a new single ‘1994’ and news of an extended UK tour.The singer-songwriter (real name Robin Skinner) will release his fifth album – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Sleepyhead’ – on November 4 via Sire Records.Skinner said of his new single: “‘1994’ is about dealing with perceived guilt and how it can become over-exaggerated in my head.
