Jake Bugg has been announced as the final music headliner for this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust fundraiser concert series at London’s Royal Albert Hall.The Nottinghamshire singer-songwriter is booked for March 23, the night after Wet Leg take to the Hall’s iconic stage.Underworld top the bill on the Monday (March 20), The Courteeners on the Friday (March 24) and Kasabian closing out the show on the Saturday (March 25). Florence + The Machine frontwoman Florence Welch’s forthcoming The Great Gatsby musical adaptation is set to premiere on Broadway next year.Entitled Gatsby, the show will premiere at Harvard University’s American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, according to Rolling Stone.Welch is collaborating with producer Thomas Bartlett, who records music as Doveman. Maggie Rogers has said she has noticed more people having panic attacks at her gigs since the pandemic.The singer recently began her ‘Feral Joy’ tour of the United States in support of last year’s ‘Surrender’ LP, and took to TikTok this week to share her observations from looking out at the crowd during the shows.“So something is happening on this tour that we have never ever experienced before,” she said in the video message, “which is that we’re seeing more people than ever either pass out or have panic attacks in the audience”.She added: “Obviously it’s been a really long time since we’ve been in crowds, and concerts may not be the most natural space after the couple years we’ve spent in the pandemic, and I’ve never been more grateful to the community around my music for the way they’ve been taking care of each other.Rogers then issued a “friendly reminder that if you’re coming to a show [to] please stay hydrated, try not to lock your knees if you’re standing for a really long time, take some breaks, and just do everything you can to keep everyone safe and healthy around you.”stay safe out there ❤️‍

Japanese Breakfast has caused a stir online by sharing her controversial thoughts on The Beatles‘ seminal seventh album ‘Revolver’.Released back in 1966, the record is widely regarded as the Fab Four’s best full-length project. Using cutting edge studio technology, the LP is one of the most innovative pop records ever made.Taking to Twitter last Sunday (February 19), Japanese Breakfast – real name Michelle Zauner – claimed that “‘Revolver’ is the ‘Tusk’ of Beatles albums”, referring to Fleetwood Mac‘s experimental 1979 follow-up to ‘Rumours’.“I’m not saying either of these albums are bad!” Zauner clarified in a follow-up tweet.

Liam Gallagher has responded to The 1975 frontman Matty Healy calling for an Oasis reunion, who he told to “grow up” and reform.In a recent interview with Q With Tom Power, a radio show aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Healy discussed inter-band tensions in The 1975, and how they overcome them by being silly.Turning his attention towards bands that “get so serious” about something that’s, in his view, “not that complicated,” he said: “What are Oasis doing?” he continued. “Can you imagine being in potentially – right now, still – the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a mard with your brother?”Healy said that he could handle Liam and Noel Gallagher “dressing like they’re in their 20s and being in their 50s”, but not “acting like they’re in their 20s”.

Damon Albarn has confirmed that a feature-length Gorillaz film that was in the works at Netflix, has been cancelled.The frontman first announced the film in October 2020 before confirming the band were working with Netflix on it just over a year later.“I’m at Netflix because we’re making a full-length Gorillaz film with Netflix,” he said at the time. “Yeah, we’re having a writing session in Malibu this afternoon. The Coral have announced plans for a UK book tour entitled ‘The Making Of The Debut Album’ next month.Frontman James Skelly and keyboardist Nick Power will hit the road at Chester Storyhouse on March 8 before wrapping up at Lytham St Annes Lowther Pavilion on March 20.The tour will see the pair in conversation about the book which “shares the story of their journey as childhood friends right through to the making of their remarkable debut album” according to a press release.The show will also feature a short acoustic performance of songs from their 2002 self-titled debut album. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have shared details of a headline outdoor Brighton gig this summer.Supported by The Vaccines, The Coral and Gaz Coombes, Gallagher will bring his band to the ‘On The Beach’ show on July 30.Tickets go on general sale this Friday (February 24) at 10am GMT here.Gallagher’s latest announcement comes after booking an outdoor gig in Taunton this August as part of the Somerset Live series.
