The mythology and adventure of Avatar: The Last Airbender will continue with Avatar: Seven Havens, a new 26-episode, 2D-animated series ordered by Nickelodeon, from original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko and Avatar Studios.

Miss Scarlet will return for a sixth season with Kate Phillips (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light) once again reprising her role as the title character.

Naman Ramachandran Shout! Studios has acquired North American distribution rights to family adventure feature “Pet Investigators” from indie European distributor Plaion Pictures. The deal was negotiated by Shout! Studios’ executive VP Melissa Boag, Mark Balsam, Bruce Eisen of Eisen Law, and Steven Katz, Shout’s VP of business affairs, and film writer and producer Werner Kienberger of Plaion. Ellise Shafer Robert Pattinson had a revelation during the Berlin Film Festival press conference for Bong Joon Ho‘s “Mickey 17“: He based one of his wacky accents in the movie off of Steve Buscemi’s “Fargo” character. In the sci-fi comedy, Pattinson plays the down-on-his-luck Mickey Barnes, who signs up to be an “expendable” on a new human colony and undertakes dangerous assignments he is not expected to survive. Each time he dies, a new body is generated, and much of the film’s plot is based on the adventures of his 17th and 18th clones — who both sport slightly different yet equally strange accents.

Jamie Lang FilmSharks has scored several new distribution deals, including in North America, for David Bisbano’s Argentine animated pic “Dalia and the Red Book” ahead of the film’s global rollout. Vision Films has acquired all North American rights, with plans for a 2025 release in the second quarter.
