Jamie Lang FilmSharks has scored several new distribution deals, including in North America, for David Bisbano’s Argentine animated pic “Dalia and the Red Book” ahead of the film’s global rollout.
Vision Films has acquired all North American rights, with plans for a 2025 release in the second quarter. In Turkey, TME will distribute the film in the coming months, while Babillla Ciné plans an upcoming theatrical release in Colombia. “Dalia and the Red Book” is the story of 12-year-old Dalia, who, after her father’s death, must find an ending to his last unfinished book.
To do so, she enters the narrative world and faces characters vying for the lead role. Combining stop-motion, CG and 2D animation techniques, the film offers a unique aesthetic reminiscent of “Corpse Bride” or “ParaNorman.” Co-produced across Latin America and Spain, “Dalia” has previously sold in more than a dozen territories in Latin America, Europe and Asia, including to Disney+ for streaming in Latin America.
