TV presenter John-James Chalmers - known as JJ Chalmers - has been confirmed as the latest celebrity to join the Strictly Come Dancing 2020 lineup.
The 33-year-old Scottish television personality is sure to prove stiff competition in the show thanks to his military and sporting background.
However, JJ's remarkable life story comes with a terrifying near-death experience that saw him undergo at least 30 operations and an enduring rehabilitation process.
Prior to his successful television career, Chalmers had been serving as a Royal Marine. Having been deployed to Afghanistan, JJ was on a foot patrol in Helmand province in 2011 when he was seriously injured by an Improvised Explosive Device.
