Thomas Lemar has made it clear that he knows what to expect from Paul Pogba in Wednesday night's Champions League tie. Manchester United travel to Lemar's Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Round of 16 this week with both sides hoping to progress in the competition.
Pogba and Lemar are teammates on the international stage with France and the 26-year-old has already made it clear that he knows what to expect from United's midfielder.
Speaking to the Daily Express during the 2018 World Cup, Lemar said: "He’s [Pogba] leading us all, he’s smiling, he’s also giving us good advice. "He’s a guy who like to take responsibilities and he’s doing it well in this tournament. "I hope it will go on like that for him and us in the competition." Whether Lemar will have the opportunity to play against Pogba is a different story however.
The Frenchman missed his side's 3-0 victory over Osasuna due to coming into contact with someone who had tested positive for Covid-19. Tell us who you think United’s captain should be below or here. Atletico are currently left wondering as to whether he will be available for selection in the midweek tie. Sign up to our United newsletter so you never miss an update from Old Trafford this season.
