Arsenal were forced to withdraw Kieran Tierney from their starting XI on Saturday. Mikel Arteta’s side took on West Ham at the Emirates and were huge favourites to build on their opening day win over Fulham by claiming three points - but there was a late change that could have proved troubling.
Scotland international Tierney, who has had two big injury concerns since moving to London from Celtic last year, was pulled out of the team at the last minute due to a tight hip.
The 23-year-old missed the opening seven games of the previous Premier League season with a similar concern, and was out between December and March after dislocating his shoulder.
