One of the women who sued Marilyn Manson – real name Brian Warner – over sexual assault allegations has recanted her claims, saying that she was “manipulated” into making them by actor Evan Rachel Wood.In a new sworn statement presented to a New York court by Manson’s lawyers yesterday, Ashley Morgan Smithline says: “I succumbed to pressure from Evan Rachel Wood and her associates to make accusations of rape and assault against Mr Warner that were not true. Eventually, I started to believe that what I was repeatedly told happened to Ms Wood and [others] also happened to me”.Smithline claimed in a 2021 legal filing that the musician had violently assaulted her several times between 2010 and 2013 – allegations that he has always denied.In October, her lawyer Jay Ellwanger was granted permission to step down from the case and the court gave Smithline three months to appoint new representation or officially confirm that she would be representing herself.

Marilyn Manson has settled a sexual assault lawsuit brought against him by actor Esmé Bianco. This follows the dismissal of another similar action against the musician earlier this month.Bianco sued Manson, real name Brian Warner, and his company Marilyn Manson Records in 2021, accusing him of sexual assault and battery, and human trafficking, in relation to incidents dating back to 2011.This was one of four cases launched against the musician after his former fiancée Evan Rachel Wood went public with her own allegations about their time together.In a statement to Rolling Stone, Bianco’s lawyer Jay Ellwanger said: “Ms Bianco has agreed to resolve her claims against Brian Warner and Marilyn Manson Records Inc in order to move on with her life and career”.Earlier this month, another case launched against Manson by model Ashley Morgan Smithline was dismissed when she missed a deadline to appoint new legal representation, after her original lawyer stepped down in October.Multiple women came forward with claims of sexual assault against Manson after Wood named him as the previously anonymous abuser she had spoken about publicly for several years.

UPDATE, 8:30 PM: After nearly two years, Marilyn Manson has reached an agreement with Esmé Bianco to end the Game of Thrones actress’ sexual assault and sexual battery case against him.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has completed the investigation into the sexual abuse allegations against Marilyn Manson.  After the 19-month probe, detectives turned in the results to prosecutors, who said Tuesday more evidence is needed before they can consider criminal charges against Manson. The case against the 53-year-old musician involves sexual assault and domestic violence from 2009 until 2011.  The District Attorney’s Office called the case it received "partial." I was coerced into a commercial sex act under false pretences.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael L. Stern said Wednesday that a former assistant to rocker Marilyn Manson had “too few facts too keep this case in court” and was brought too late to meet the statute of limitations rules. He dismissed the case “with prejudice,” meaning Manson can’t be sued again over the same allegations.

More than a year after Evan Rachel Wood accused Marilyn Manson of sexual abuse, the 53-year-old musician is taking legal action against her for, he claims, allegedly creating an elaborate scheme to manufacture all of the accusations against him.
