Tottenham Hotspur legend Osvaldo 'Ossie' Ardiles is recovering in hospital after undergoing heart surgery earlier this week, the club have confirmed.The 69-year-old spent 10 years with the club as a player before later returning as a manager during the 1990s and has been a club ambassador for the last 12 years.Spurs confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that Ardiles was in hospital, tweeting: "The club would like to extend its best wishes to our ambassador and legendary former player @osvaldooardiles, who successfully underwent heart surgery this week and is now recovering in hospital."Wishing you a speedy recovery, Ossie!"Ardiles joined Spurs from Argentinian side Huracan in 1978, fresh from helping Argentina to their maiden World Cup triumph earlier in the summer.Overall, he won 63 caps for his country during his career, scoring eight goals from central midfield in the process.He made a total of 311 appearances for Spurs during his decade at White Hart Lane, scoring 25 goals for the club during this period.Ardiles was also part of the side which won the 1984 UEFA Cup, although he did not feature in the final against Anderlecht, which Spurs won on penalties.Is Osvaldo Ardiles Tottenham Hotspur's greatest ever player?
